Bright Eyes, fronted by eccentric Omaha native Conor Oberst, came home last Friday to a sold-out Sokol Auditorium — a stop on the U.S. winter tour promoting the band’s upcoming release “I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning.”

Just a week after suffering its sixth loss in nine games, the Creighton men’s basketball team is enjoying the sort of confidence that it has lacked since its season-opening seven-game winning streak.
