Your grandma was wrong. Early to bed and early to rise doesn’t make a student healthy, wealthy and wise. In fact, going to bed early is a waste of time. If the only reason you ever stay up late is to study, then you’re missing out. There’s more to do past 11 p.m. than memorize vocabulary words.
OPEN 24/7
Baker’s Grocery Store
If you need an avocado at 3:15 a.m., Baker’s has you covered. Julia Hudson, Arts & Sciences junior, said that she’s shopped at Baker’s late at night. “That’s when I have time, and I don’t like shopping when stores are busy,” Hudson said.Located at 888 S. Saddle Creek Road.
McDonald’s
This is the closest place to campus to grab fast food. McDonald’s is inexpensive and fast. Aaron Carranza and Allie Laffey, Arts & Scienes sophomores, said they go to McDonald’s to eat and to people-watch. “There are weird people there late at night,” Carranza said. The Dollar Menu features more than 12 items, including the double cheese burger. At McDonald’s, satisfying late-night munchies will only hurt your waistline, not your wallet.

Call (402) 342-3595.
Starbucks

Smoke Pit
It’s probably the only BBQ place that offers spaghetti; however, the Smoke Pit is best known for its homemade BBQ sauce. Although it is the most expensive late-night place on this list — the average cost of a meal is about $8 — Meredith Eichten, Business junior, said that it’s worth every penny. “The sauce was delicious, but I’d get the food to go because the atmosphere isn’t great,” she said.
