Auto-theft
increases

You don't have to tell Vince Miller, Arts & Sciences
junior, that car theft is going up in Omaha. He had his car stolen. Twice.
"I was shocked, confused, and forgive my language, but I was pissed. Twice is
two times too many," he said.
Miller is not alone. Public safety recently released its Campus Safety and Security
Report required by the federal Campus Security Act, passed in 1990. Most statistics
in the report are consistent from 1999 to 2002, but one is not. Motor vehicle
theft tripled from 6 in 2001 to 18 in 2002.
