Micah White already has two years of CSU experience under her belt. Over half of that time has been on the Executive Team.
White, a junior Accounting and Finance double major, was a CSU Representative her freshman year and has served as the Vice President of Finance since. She said that experieince is necessary to do a good job in the position.

“I already have relationships built in with the administration and I’m comfortable talking to them about student problems and issues,” White said. “I really do care about what is going on on campus and about students.”

One of White’s goals is to get more communication between student organizations, the student body and CSU representatives. She said a discussion modeled after the Rev. John P. Schlegel, S.J.’ s “Fireside chat” would be helpful for conversation between students, representatives and executives.
She added that Online blogging would allow students to see and monitor what the student government does.

“I want to figure out what channels can get more involvement between representatives and the student body,” White said.

White said there are important initiatives on campus that should be focused on including recycling and a revision of the CARE program.

“The president should be a voice and face for students,” White said. “It’s a listening ear and a hardworking personality... For example, I don’t think students should fear sending their friends to CARE.”

Other experiences that have prepared her for the presidential position include Beth Alpha Psi, the accounting fraternity, Pi Beta Phi, the Anna Tyler Waitte program and leading tours for CU Stars.

Golf, tennis and cooking occupy White’s free time. The Texas Tech fan’s guilty pleasure is a unique combination.

“I really like putting almonds in my apple sauce,” White said. “Its salty and sweet.”
