For the approximately 2,200 homeless people in
the Omaha area, several overnight shelters and
programs exist to help meet basic human needs. However,
simply providing food, clothing and overnight
shelter does not address the root of the homelessness
problem. Advocates say a day shelter is
an essential step in that direction.
